This Privacy Policy describes how Star Battle ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, processes, and shares your information when you download, install, and play the Star Battle: Zen Logic mobile application (the "Game") and use any associated services (collectively, the "Services").

To provide a smooth, synchronized, and secure puzzle experience, we collect certain information. This is categorized into:

A. Information Collected Automatically

  • Anonymous Identifiers: When you open the Game for the first time, an anonymous user identifier is created via Firebase Authentication (signInAnonymously()). This allows us to track your individual puzzle progress, Daily Challenge completions, and purchased Pro status without requiring you to provide personal details like your name or email.
  • Game Progress and Statistics: We collect data regarding your gameplay, including:
    • Levels and difficulties completed (e.g., Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert).
    • Completion times and Daily Challenge statistics.
    • Undo/redo actions and hint usage.
    • Local save game states (cached locally via Drift/SQLite and synchronized periodically).
  • Device and Technical Information: We automatically collect technical details about your mobile device, including:
    • Operating system (Android, iOS) and version.
    • Device model, screen resolution, and language settings.
    • Selected Game settings (visual themes like Midnight Gold/OLED, haptic feedback intensity).
  • Telemetry Data (Analytics & Crash Reports): With your consent, we use analytical tools (including Google Analytics for Firebase) and crash reporting tools (such as Firebase Crashlytics) to collect aggregate information on how players interact with the Game and to identify bugs, memory leaks, and rendering performance issues. You can control this collection at any time via the "Share Telemetry Data" toggle in the Settings menu inside the Game.

B. Information You Provide Voluntarily

  • Account Linking Data: If you choose to link your anonymous account to a permanent account (such as Google, Apple, or an email address) to synchronize your progress across multiple devices or secure your account, we may collect your email address, name/display name, or unique federated account identifier.
  • Support Communications: If you contact us directly for customer support, we will collect your email address and any additional information you choose to provide in your message.

C. Third-Party Game & Platform Services

  • Google Play Games Services: Access and display public gamer profile details, achievements, and progress data synced to Google's cloud gaming storage services.
  • In-App Purchases: All payment processing is handled securely by the respective app stores (Google Play Store or Apple App Store). We do not collect or store your financial details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We process your data strictly to deliver and improve the Game experience, including synchronizing gameplay, maintaining leaderboards, validating Daily Challenges, verifying purchases, optimizing performance, customizing experience, and ensuring security.

3. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA and UK Users)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom (UK), we process your personal data under the following legal bases: Performance of a Contract, Legitimate Interests, and Consent.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We only share information with limited Service Providers & Platform Integrations (Google Firebase, Google Analytics, Google Play Games Services), or as required by Legal Requirements, or Business Transfers.

5. Data Retention

We retain Game Data & Progress for as long as your account is active, Support Emails until resolved, and Local Data can be cleared by the user.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard your data. Firebase data is transmitted using secure, encrypted protocols (HTTPS/SSL).

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have specific data protection rights, including Access and Portability, Rectification, Erasure ("Right to Be Forgotten"), Restriction or Objection, and Opt-Out of Automated Processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email listed below.

Telemetry Consent: You can enable or disable collection of analytics and crash report data at any time by toggling the "Share Telemetry Data" switch in Settings within the Game. Disabling telemetry will not affect your ability to play the Game.

8. Children's Privacy

The Game is designed for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain European jurisdictions).

9. International Data Transfers

The Game's backend is hosted by Google Firebase, and data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside of your home country (including the United States).

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page with the updated "Effective Date."
